There are six steps to designing and developing a Learning Program
1. Define the parameters of the Learning Program
What is the purpose of the Learning program and what things will infleunce it?
Who is the target group? What are the benchmarks? What are the delivery options?
2. Generate options for the design of the Learning Program
What will be best for your target group? Are there any existing programs that could be
used or adapted? Can you cluster some units? What will the content be? What resources
will you use? What are the costs? Where will the venue be?
3. Develop the Learning Program content
Consider Adult learning principle and styles. Do the resources need to be contextualised?
Will you need to develop additional resources? What are the assessment requirements?
What activities will you use?
4. Design the structure of the Learning Program
What will the timeframe be? How will the learning be sequenced? What assessment methods
and tools will you use? What are the organisational requirements for implementation?
What reporting requirements are there?
Steps 2 through 4 may overlap and you may need to return to a previous step.
5. Reviewing and finalising the Learning Program
What evaluation tools will you use? What will be the criteria for the review?
How will you make adjustments to the Learning Program. How will you document the review?
